How long does it take to ship my vehicle?
Shipping your vehicle within the continental U.S.
Auto transportation includes many variables. Just as when taking a trip in your car, there can be obstacles that can impede our progress. Road construction, traffic jams, severe weather or unanticipated mechanical problems can all delay your trip. These things can delay a trucks progress also.

Whenever possible, we try to anticipate any obstacles as best we can. Our goal is to deliver your vehicle within the time range specified. Vehicle owners can contribute to an on-time delivery by being at the delivery location in a timely manner. When the possibility exists that you may not be arriving at the point of delivery on-time, we ask that you notify our customer service department in order to arrange rescheduling. On average, allow seven to fourteen days for us to complete the trip.

Shipping your vehicle overseas:
In most cases, we are able to give you expected arrival dates. However, sometimes due to; customs delays, ships canceling their departures, or in the event of lack of enough freight available for consolidated shipments, delays can occur.

How many days in advance do I need to call?
Two weeks in advance is recommended. If you have a unique situation that requires urgency, that can be addressed on an individual basis. In some cases, we can assign priority status to your transport request. Please call us to discuss your needs.

How long does it take to have my car picked up?
Scheduling of your vehicles shipment will be arranged within two to three days of the scheduled pick-up date. We can always arrange to accommodate your schedule, but you may incur additional costs.

How far in advance can I make a reservation?
We will accept reservations up to two months in advance.

How much will it cost to ship my car?
Pricing is determined by mileage, fuel cost and vehicle size. Please check our free, convenient rate quote calculator for estimated transportation cost.

Do I need to pay in advance to ship my vehicle?
Yes. A deposit and a signed order are usually required before your vehicle is scheduled for shipping. However, there are exceptions. The balance must be paid upon your vehicle's delivery by cash, postal money order, or cashier's check.

What payment options do you accept?
We accept, Cashier's Checks, Postal Money Orders, and Major Credit Cards (we require the customer's signature for credit card payment).

Can I pack my belongings in my car?
No. That is not just our rule, it is the law. It has been law since 1998 when the Department of Transportation ruled that you may NOT load any items in a vehicle being transported by an auto carrier.

Is my vehicle insured during transit?
Yes, your vehicle is covered under the standard $250,000 cargo insurance. Minor external body damage, including glass or exhaust system/undercarriage/transmission are not covered for open trailer transportation. Classic vehicles should have an updated appraisal for insurance purposes.

What do I do if my vehicle gets damaged?
Our car transport and auto shipping transporters strive to do the best job possible to avoid damage, however sometimes damage does occur. A thorough check of your vehicle should be made at the time of delivery. You should note the condition against the list you created before pick-up. If, for some reason, there is anything not previously noted, make the driver aware of it and complete an inspection report and ask for the driver’s signature. We will review your claim in a timely manner.

Will you ship my car if it's inoperable?
We will transport your vehicle if it is inoperable. Vehicle tires must be properly inflated and able to roll, and the car must have a working emergency brake.

What if I am unavailable to pick up the car?
Shipping within the United States:
Have an alternative party, like a friend or relative, sign on your behalf. If you are not available, your vehicle may go to a terminal for you to pickup.

Shipping overseas:
You can designate any person to pick up the vehicle but you must advise us so that we can enter his or her name as the receiver. They will be required to identify themselves and produce the Title of Ownership or Letter of Permission to ship the vehicle.

What is door-to-door service?
It means that we will attempt to get your vehicle as close to your new location as possible, but it may not be possible to deliver to your driveway. Most trucks are 75 feet long and very wide, which makes it impossible to reach most residential areas due to narrow roads, trees, power lines, city ordinances, and other factors. The driver will attempt to get as close as possible to the delivery location, or we will arrange a convenient location, like a shopping center or large parking lot to pick up or deliver your vehicle.

How much gasoline should I leave in the tank?
You should leave approximately a quarter ¼ tank.

What is a roll-on, roll-off vessel?
This is a large vessel, which carries all vehicles that have wheels. The vehicles are stored below deck, not open to the elements. This method is the preferred method of shipping for new vehicle manufacturers.

What are the port and clearance charges?
For shipping overseas:
These are offloading and documentation fees charged by the destination country. Each country differs. Container offloading fees are usually double that of roll-on roll-off fees.

Can I send my belongings when I ship overseas?
If you are shipping your vehicle in a shared container, you will be permitted to pack personal goods in your vehicle. These goods are shipped at your own risk and cannot be insured. If you ship your vehicle in a container, on its own, you can pack the vehicle and the container with your goods, which can be insured.

How do I check on the status of my shipment?
You can track your shipment online 24/7 here. You can track your shipment by contacting the driver. This will provide a timely status and allow for delivery arrangements. You can also contact our Seattle office, which is open from 10:00am to 5:00pm PST or our Chicago office, which is open 7:00am to 5:00pm CST. You can find this information in the contact information we provide.
